Some notes on the cards:

Exalted Angel was probably the MVP of the day, but Bitterblossom was a close second.  Both Lieges get an honorary mention.  All of the equipment proved fantastic, especially the stuff that gave lifelink.  I got Dark Confidant + Top/Mirri's Guile online a few times which was just nasty.  The discard didn't prove to be that essential, but I didn't really run up against any combo on the day either - it was mostly aggro opponents with a few control.

Nearly everytime I got Survival to stick, I dug up the Genesis/Shriekmaw combo which was always a beating.  One game I was able to get Knight of the Reliquary, Armageddon, and Life from the Loam online.  Great cards together.

I think I'm going to drop from 6 cycle lands down to 3 for future versions.  The CIPT noticably slowed me down a few times and the cycling was rarely relevent.

Good analysis.  If I had to limit my top 5 picks for what will make an impact on Highlander, I think I'd go with:

#1 - Qasali Pridemage
Part Watchwolf, part Naturalize.  Tougher to cast, but I think many people will replace Kami of Ancient Law or Ronom Unicorn with this guy if they are in both G and W.

#2 - Anathemancer
For reasons already stated.

#3 - Behemoth's Sledge
You can now play two Loxodon Warhammers in Highlander.

#4 - Bloodbraid Elf
Get a free card on a nice aggressive body.

#5 - Maelstrom Pulse
Maelstrom Pulse is no Vindicate, especially in Highlander.  It is still quality removal though.  If you could run two Putrefy in Highlander, chances are most of the time you would.

Overall, a great set though with lots of playables.  Probably one of my favorites in a long while.

The only card that I think has potential that is not mentioned so far in this thread is Knotvine Paladin.  Slap a sledge or warhammer on him, make some tokens, and he's just disgustingly strong for GW.

Vazdru, how did Dark Confidant work out in that deck?

It seems like there are so many 3+ CC cards in both that deck and my deck.  Not sure if I'm comfortable running him, but both decks seem to run lots of lifegain to counteract it.

Thanks for the advice.

LFTL is a very good suggestion, not sure how I missed that.  It seems especially good with the SDT-like effects.  When you've picked out all the good stuff and you're stuck looking at crap in the top 3, just dredge them away.

Agreed on the Enlightened Tutor.  The option to find Bitterblossom, Arena, or Oblivion Ring is probably worth the card going on top of the library instead of into the hand.

I was hesitant to add Withered Wretch due to the BB cost, but if a couple of those WW creature go away, it's not any worse.

What do you think about cutting Parallax Wave in favor of Faith's Fetters?

Kind of a Highlander version of The Rock.  I've play tested the deck a bit and so far it hasn't been absolutely terrible, so that's a good sign.  This is for a tourney at the local card shop.  I'm pretty sure no one there has ever played the Highlander variant, let alone competitively, so no clue on meta.  Everyone is walking in completely blind, which should be fun.

Mirri's Guile, Sylvan Library, and SDT probably seem out of place, but I've tried to get as many shuffle effects into the deck as possible.  Each shuffle effect gets you your choice of 3 new cards every time, which has helped me out a lot during testing.

Any cards I'm missing?  Any cards you think should be dropped?  Too many non-basic lands?  I'd of course like to get Tarmogoyf and the missing duals in, but $$$ issues.  Thanks for any advice.
