It would force g/w/x aggro to play more non-creature answers, which, by the way, other decks have to do aswell to deal with creatures but have no instant tutors for.

The point of these discussions is to balance out the meta, not to defend petdecks or strategies. For example alot of people get upset about the yawgwin turn. But somehow it is ok when pattern wins with a rector into pattern. They only difference is that the yawg player will probably go into solitaire mode for a few minutes.
Also the aformentioned nut-draws. For it is seemingly ok to go T1 hierarch, T2 qasali, establish a board presence and have one answer on board already and maybe holding daze/pierce/force, but on the other hand NOT ok if a combo player goes off Turn 3. Which is also not common at all.

The problem is that there are no control tools to unban and there is no way all spells-on-legs get the axe. So catch-all keeper like control won't come back to HL at all. Decks like MBC, UW have weaknesses, but are quite good at beating several decks.
Worldly and ElaCall should be strongly considered for a ban though, since they can fetch threats/answers/wins at instant speed for 1/2 mana.

LED should be unbanned too, as far as I have tested it the interaction with ywill or draw7s comes up too unreliably and is in no way faster than other combos. I think people only overreact to the rare nuts draw - which every deck possesses btw.

I am really sorry for the mess. Some obligations came up very suddenly and I need to keep a clear head (even if it sounds silly concerning such a minor time investment).
I am going to make up for this at some point.

This is pure theorycraft and has no basis at all. While UG is a solid deck, it is not really the best deck to abuse loam at all. It lost gifts and your example of t2 intuition has a 1/10 chance. Not to mention you'd lose loam to any gravehate after that. Not to mention so many good creatures have been printed that pure loam-control strategies are way too slow and vulnerable.
And when was retrace a powerful deck?

By the same logic you could ban Knight-otR because it has a powerful synergy with the best lands.
Also the good oath deck played loam itself, because of the powerful synergy.

unbans: Ywill, Gifts, Library, LED, Loam, Balance, Enlightened, (Mystical), (Academy).
ban: nothing

To check out if there really is a dominating combodeck. I mean Academy/Yawg/LED was banned because Stax and TPS made a few top 8 appearances, like Dortmund 10/1/06 3/8. Now please check the recent Top8s in Germany. 3c-5c Goodstuff/aggro decks are dominating and consist of roughly 3/4 of the same cards.
I'd actually be very happy to see a loam deck locking out nonbasics from turn 3 on, which is a bad assumption because you should always run a few basics and also pay a price for your many colours.

I'd really want to see a massive unban to CHECK what is good in our format now and whatnot, you cannot assume that tps/stax/whatever rules like it did when he have now so many good creatures and tools for the aggro/control decks.

For example TPS: They play pridemage, they play waste, they play stifle, some play cheap counters, they play avalanche riders and clique and glen-elendra, and ooze and on and have multiple tutors for each of them. Yes TPS could steal a game on turn 1 with the ultra lucky hand of: Academy, LED, petal, mox, land, Draw 7 or so. But please consider the chances of that hand.
And academy might be too strong, there is no doubt, but unless we have a large collection of actual data there is no way of telling.

Instead of banning, enable other decks instead.

PS: It is not Birthing Pod which makes the Goodstuff decks dominate the meta, the culprits are the good creatures. Do you want to ban them all?
I think the real question is what kind of meta does the council or we want? Do we want a rather uniform meta where 3c-5c decks are the best decks followed by the ubiquitous RDW and maybe one UW? Or would a meta with more distinctive decks be better?

eh that list is outdated, right now I'd play alot more creatures like inferno titan, wurmcoil etc.
If you want a creatureless build, humility, the abyss and such are essential.

It also wins if you can dump Ooze&Friends or Gorger/SunTitan/animate/Oona. For example Hermit Druid, Cephalid Illusionist/Kor Dudes, Buried Alive. I am pretty sure there is a good combo deck employing all those.

coldcrow (MBC) 2 : 0 Maggot (Ooze/Devourer/Trike-Combo)

game 1: Kickass hand of chrome, ritual, land, arena and hyppie. I can't really gain more adv. of it because I miss the 3rd swamp in addition to coffers, but discard and a withered wretch keep him from comboing until the CA buries him.

game 2: Disruptive hand of shadow of doubt + wretch and other goodies. Wretch comes down and maggot draws no removal for the entire game.

coldcrow (5c-stax) 2 : 0 Tabris (UWR-Control)

game 1: Misery vs starvation. I have the mana and zero bussiness, Tabris gets screwed. I keep him down with a port and wasteland nullify the batterskull with humility and bridge and finally drop elspeth and liliana of the veil. Tabris struggels with a jace v2, but ultimate of elspeth and replacement with elspeth tirel wraps it up.

game 2: Must not be Tabris' day. He gets screwed even worse, draws only anti-aggro cards and I can safely drop garruk and lily v2, tutor for decree of annihilation and trinisphere, which locks the game up completely.

not so ggs :(

coldcrow (MBC) 2 : 0 VazDru (U/B Worldgorger)

game 1: Vazdru wins the roll and starts with Island into ponder, which makes me shudder expecting some kind of pure blue-based control. I play a hyppie turn 3, which is apparently too innocently blooded, but I get it back with a Necromancy. Vazdru cast Intuition for Worldgorger, Gladiator and BLoodrite Invoker, revealing his plan. I beseech for shred memory (no bog in my 100, another oversight), but cannot play it in the same turn. In the end I exile his combo, stick a oblivion stone and vazdru gets rid of my hyppie. Discard spells fly around and we end up with zero cards, but vazdru has a anc. vision ticking down.
Some turns draw-go with a sensei on his side. I draw bargain, but wait for a discard spell or another threat.A few turns later he casts jace v1 and has only 2 blue mana available, one being a fetch, so I activate stone, vazdru misses to fetch immediately and puts top on top of library. NExt turn I cast Baragian, turns out he has no counter.

game 2: Vazdru starts with a vision (ouch). He remands my second turn distress, then scrolls for intuition, leaving one blue mana free. I smell the pierce and am glad I got a lotus petal. Cast petal, vazdru pierces, cast distress nabbing the intuition leaving vazdru with zero bussiness spells.
Then I demonstrate incredible topdeck skills yet again, as I draw the dark ritual enabling me to cast DT and play necro in the same turn, before his vision resolved. He therapies for shred and personal tutors for buried alive, but mind sludge discards 2 animation spells and I win shortly after.

coldcrow (MBC) 2 : 1 Payron (Pattern-Rector)

game 1: I start with a leyline of the void in play, draw helm from top. We exchange some blows, I tutor for ritual, cast helm turn 4 and activate for the win.

game 2: I get a necro going, wipe his board but he counters with a hulk. I realize that I got no unmake in my 100, so I have to get maze to survive. In the next turns my drunkenness showed as I thought I could stop the hulk trigger with suffer the past. I die.

game 3: I look at a quite nice hand of hymn, distress, drain of life, liliana v2. He seizes hymn, gets rector with some tutor. I topdeck like a pro and lily, ancient tomb and mind shatter crush his hand. Lily continues to keep the board clean, I cast helm and later on tutor for leyline.
