Helle (Bant) 2 : 1 Vazdru (UWx-Planeswalker)

Game 1: I manage to resolve Sword of Feast and Famine beat him with Noble Hierarch. Some Counter-Duells, but not much action at all on both sides.

Game 2: He playes an early Back to Basics that buys him some turns. Baneslayer ends the game in his favor.

Game 3: One of the best games in a long time: I play a Gifts Ungiven on turn 4, which surprisingly resolves, even though my plan was to get it countered and resolves Gideon next turn. So I both Jaces in hand, but he got Vendilion Clique to discard the Mindsculptor. So I go for Gideon as planned, but he plays Oblivion Ring. I resolve Sword of Fire and Ice the turn after and can kill Vendillion Clique with Llanowar Elves. Then he plays Gifts Ungiven and removes my only creature leaving the board empty on both sides. He then fetches my Sun Titan with Bribery recurring Vendilion Clique. I have to jumpblock the Titan twice bevore Venser with Counterbackup returns it to my hand. The turn after I play the Titan getting Aven Mindcensor, but he got Shriekmaw for the Titan. He plays Jace the Mindsculptor and I think the game ends in his favor, but I draw Vendilion Clique myself and play it eot to destroy Jace. The next turn I tutor for Quasali Pridemage to destroy Oblivion Ring and get Giddeon back. At that point the game is over pretty soon. The game went back and forth all the time!

nmlss (BG Midrange) 1 : 2 helle (GRb Valakut)

Game 1: He got Lotus Cobra into Rampaging Baloths, while I'm stuck on two lands. That game was over pretty soon.

Game 2: We both start the game searching for some lands. I got some action with Bloodbraid Elf, but he easily handles it. I cast Rampaging Baloths with 2 fetchlands on the table. I only beat him down to 4 life before he can handle my beasts. He conceeds when I cast Green Sun's Zenith for Primeval Titan searching Valakut + 6th mountain (holding another one in hand).

Game 3: I only got two lands and he kills two of my mana creatures. Meanwhile he beats me with a 1/1 dork with Rancor + SoF/I. I manage to stabalize with Maze of Ith and two walls when he casts Grave Titan. Then the game crashes.

I would have survived only one attack of Grave Titan, but I was already holding Avenger of Zendikar + Fetchland that I was going to play on the next turn, so I got lots of blockers. There was a lot of arguing as he thought he had already won. We then played another game.

Game 4: Now he is screwed on two lands while I beat him with Obstine Baloth. I then finish him with Scapeshift. Really bad game for a decision.

unlucky last game :(
thanks for the games

Well, that's weird, they should just ban the entire PK3, that would make it a lot easier, IMO and more consistent.

Most cards of the set being played are functional reprints. So the original cards already are available in the format. In my oppinion, those cards interfere with the "there can be only one" clause of the format. If you want to play Armageddon, Earthquake, Wildfire etc. as a 4-of, you can switch to other constructed formats. The reduced redundancy is what makes highlander special to me.

As the set wasn't planned to reach the european/american market ever, it's card to get your hands on those cards. Combined with the fact, that those cards aren't really needed (no decktype is base on one of the cards/mechanics), I absolutely agree with Mythrandir to take out the entire set.

I'd really like to know why you don't play Destructive Force? I think I'd like it better than Upheaval, as it destroys creatures and lands instead of just bouncing them back. Upheaval gives you a new start with more speed than your opponent. Its pretty good against control decks, but I didn't like it against fast aggro. Destructive Force however is one mana more expansive, but wrecks aggro entirely, as all their creatures die (except pro:red) and they don't have mana left to play the cards in their hands. Against control it's less devastating, but killing 5 lands still is pretty good.

Fenry (UBG Reanimator) 1:2 Helle (5c Zoo)

First Game: He starts fast with Chrome Mox + Merfolk Looter, but t2 Wooly Thoctar isn't slow either. I fail to follow up with Rafiq because of mana issues, so he gets Iona set to white into play. My hand is all white except for Bloodbraid Elf, but I cascade into another white card. So Iona finishes me.

Second Game: This one takes really long and is one of the most exciting and closest games I played quite in a while! I start with Goblin Guide but he fails to reveal a land several times. Bazaar of Bagdad give him the gas he needed and he reanimates Woodfall Primus destroying my Basilisk Collar. I attack him the following turn with Aven Mindcensor, bringing him down to 3 life, holding Ajani Vengeant already in hand but I dont have the 4th mana. I need to play Swords to Plowshares on his Woodfall Primus in response to Recurrning Nightmare. He's got removal for my flier and stalls the ground with Terrestadon, destroying 3 of his own land. We both can't attack for a while so we play draw-go, playing irrelevant spells only. He manages to reanimate Sphinx of the Steel Wind and is about to stabilize when I got Sword of Fire and Ice and Elspeth attacking with a flying, protection from blue creature to win the game on the last turn possible. Great Game!

Third Game: I wasteland a land, keeping him down to only a single one. Tarmogoyf, Putrid Imp and Stevard of Valeron finish the game rather fast. He would have dropped an Oath of Druids the next turn that I probably wouldn't have won against.

We play some more games were at least two more are won by Wasteland. I love this card!

Thanks for the games!

Nastaboi (UWr Control) 0 : 2 Helle (Goblinpiledriver's 5c Zoo)

I'm no quite shure about the red in his deck, as he didn't play a red spell, but fetched a Plateau. Maybe Swans combo?

First Game: I start fast with Loam Lion and Rancor, but he got Oblivion Ring for that. From then on, I drew like a god: He color-screws me with Wasteland, but I draw just the right amount of lands. He plays Exalted Angel, I drew Shriekmaw. He steals it with Control Magic, I drew Man-o'-War. Garruk's beasts then finish the game.

Second Game: He plays turn 2 Bounceland that I waste. Together with Vial I can kill him just the turn before he finds Wrath of God.

thanks for the games!

Did you consider publishing it as an article?

Tabris (RDW) 1 : 2 helle (Naya)

First Game: He starts fast with Jackal Pub and Hellspark Elemental, but T2 Wooly Thoctar followed by Tarmogoyf race him. I think I also screwed him by wasting his land.

Second Game: He burns Noble Hierarch and wastes my Taiga. I don't find another green mana in time.

Third Game: I start with Vial while he got burn and Ashenmoor Gorger. The turn after he decides to attack me instead of Elspeth so I start producing tokens. I also manage to kill his Gorger by bringing an instant 5/5 Knight of the Reliquary, which gets burned directly afterwards. Tarmogoyf then starts beating him and Congregation at Dawn searches for three lifegain creatures. He would have drawn the game-winning PoP next turn, so this was a really close one.

The Ocean (5c Oath) vs helle (RDW)

First Game: I start fast with Goblin Guide, Jackal Pub and Figure of Destiny, but the got Swords to Plowshares and Lightning Helix to deal with them. Kargan Dragonlord stays in play, is leveled and deals some serious damage while he needs to play crucible in order to get some landdrops. He finally finds and plays Oath of Druids, but is low on life so Rhystic Lighning ends the game.

Second Game: I start with Figure of Destiny and Ember Hauler while he has to search for lands again. Turn 3 he tutors for Oath of Druids, but got Magus of the Moon to totally screw him.

Goblinpiledriver (5c Zoo) - helle (RDW)

First Game: I start burning him from turn one on while he beats me with Jund Hackblade. I miss my third land drop and dont have much buisness. Bloodbraid Elf into Kitchen Finks seals the deal.

Second Game: He spoils into seven new cards and then has to mulligan again. He gets a 3/4 Tarmogoyf into play bevor I screw him with Blood Moon. He had a Forest in hand, but cant play anything off it. He suffered to much damage befor he draws a Plains, so I am able to burn him out.

Third Game: I keep a controlish hand and manage to handle most of his creatures. Even though I take some damage from haste creatures and Aven Mindcensor and my own Flamebreak. Tribal Flames bring me down to 5 where I manage to stabalize and deal damage with Koth + burn. Koth's ultimate ability then deals the final damage.

Enshrined Memories comes to my mind as some sort of 2nd Harmonize. But probably it isn't good enough.
