Rules for TO:

* contact me before you launch the event (where/when does the Trial take place, contact person) - wait for my ok
* Trial takes place between Feb., 1st and Mar., 20th
* respect magicplayer.org rules entirely
* no Proxies allowed

Price:

* First round bye for each winner, if

* there have been at least 8 participants
* final standings have been posted in this thread till Mar., 21th
* TO have sent me name + adress of the winner who receives a bye at GP 8

Maybe there will be an Online GP Trial too.

If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask.

I dont know if I like the idea to get byes for this event. It was very akward on the last HLGP where people could easily collect byes and other ppl werent able to achieve such things because there was no place which held any "Highlander Challenges" in the region and besides that, THis is not a pro event, so its not necessary that ppl can avoid homebrews or whatever the reason is behind the "bye".

I guess the real purpose is to promote the event. Trial tournament does a pretty good job making the main event more recognized, and one bye isn't a significant edge.

Exactly!
It is just for promotion reasons and an incentive for TO who support our format like the stores in Mannheim, Frankfurt, Würzburg ...
One bye won't make the difference in the end but on the other hand it's still a nice benefit for the winner.
Maybe it's even a little stimulation to join our event for guys who has a longer way to come (at least if they have won a bye).

Btw. You don't have to be a shop owner to arrange a Trial, so if you guys in Berlin wanna have one...it's your turn.

I definitly will try to establish a trial in Würzburg, hopefully I will get this managed in this timeframe. Is it possible
to extend the timeframe to 20. of march cause otherwise we have only about 4-5 weeks to prepare the event and we have
to book the location etc. as we are no shop and I organize them by my own.
The only possible dates are 5./6. or 12./13. were the second is the mannheim tournament and the first is really nearby.
Otherwise I think I will try to establish one on 6.
By the way if you need help with online trial or GP preparation just let me know.

We were able to organize three GP Trials:

Tue., Feb. 22nd, 19:00, Lebowski, Niederbarnimstraße 23, 10247 Berlin

Wed., Feb. 23rd, 16:00, Funtainment Games Center, Revaler Str. 1, 10243 Berlin

Thu., Feb. 24th, 16:00, Der Andere Spieleladen, Prenzlauer Allee 192, 10405 Berlin

The two shops are Game stores in Berlin, Lebowski is the Bar were we have our "Stammtisch", all three locations support our format and appeal to a different player base.

I hope that we can run this "Trialathlon".

Regards

Maggot

Sounds good to me. I will post the events on our main page.

A few questions/requests:
* how many player-slots do the locations grant?
* can you plz give me a contact adress (e-mail) in case any questions occur - you may use your own one for all three events if you like
* how much is the starting fee for each of the events?

Plz make sure the results (final standings) will be published in this thread in time. A short report would be nice but isn't required.

I have a question regarding the trials. How many trials are we allowed to organize ? Because we held one yesterday (which I´ve won :D ) but the two on tuesday and wednesday didn´t took place because most of the player couldn´t participate.

So my plan would be to set at least two new trials on the comming thursdays and maybe one on a weekend (which would allow people who have to work to participate).

Maggot will confirm the standings from yesterday later.

GP Trial Erfurt

12 players, 4 rounds

1. UWr Planswalker control - 12pts - Jan Münch
2. UWB control- 9pts
3. Elves - 9pts
4. Bant control - 6pts
5. Bant aggro - 6pts
6. UW skies - 6pts
7. 5color  aggro - 6pts
8. UW control - 6 pts
9. UG aggro control - 6pts
10. Mono B suicide - 3pts
11. UGB control - 1pt
12. 5c control - 1pt

Quick report

R1 vs Bant control

first game: I had early exalted angel, which was target by swords - counter ... his Rhox war monk run into condom ... we both counttered some stuff, but I Angel and Celestial Colonnade, path for his Baneslayer, and always a pact of negation in the hand ... he stryed to find a solution with trinket - top - 2 times fetch, but 3 turns are to fast.

second game: I had pretty expensive hand and just 1 counter and a blood moon 4 the early game. He played a vendilion clqiue which took my moon but after that I drew 4 lands which totaly brought me into game with jace, PW venser, wall of omens. Because he got a top I could just brainstorm which was enough card advantage with a Elspeth 2.0 and mass removel + counter

2:0

R2 vs UWB control

well not much to say: both games are pretty boring and long we counter like ALL early cards and find solution for any dangerous threads. But in late game Planswalker from the top and cards like tidings and future sight is pretty hard to fight against with a empty hand

2:0

R3 vs Elves

First game: He had a good starts with mana elves and later on big mana producer. The deck plays like a combo deck with eldrazis so I handeled all dangerous threads. then he played grenn pacct and I could handle his mana creature + tap a land with ajanie which won me game1

Second game: he had hard pressure. Then he played a tutor on regel force but I could handel some mana so he could cast him if he doesnt topdeck a maan scource which he did, but I played some blockers and layed down Elspeth 2,0 to blow a round later the board up! but i was stupid and didn t payed attantion to 3 open mana and Wirewood herald, which got him calleer of the claw. So i just was beeing stupid because I had the mana for jace to bounce the herald :( and would won because i had 4 hand cards vs 2 on his side + maze on the table

Third game: I could handle some stuff with sower, path and Elspeth 1.0 but on a empty hand he topdeckt the green Green Sun's Zenith with exactly 8 mana for the regel force again and 4 cards for him ... I could still stabilize with else and got here ultimate without sacrefice here. So in the end I won because I had enought removel + else with token and Coat of arms on his side for my token.

2:1

R4 vs Bant aggro:

first game: we both stuck on 3 lands and I could handle his hierach with swords. Later on I had coalition relique which totaly drew me back in the game because he even tryed to slow me down with b2b but I had in the end enought answers from the top.

second game: I had all spells I needed but only 3 mana sources but drew lands perfectly. I had for everything a answer against his amazing pressur after 8 mana on my side and a gifts to handle the board he gave up.

so I won in a total record of 4:0 matches and 7:1 games
