Please let us know, how you like the tournament schedule, esp. those who are traveling for the whole two-day-event.
Do you like Modern on Saturday or would you prefer Legacy + Vintage instead?

I would like Vintage to be on saturday.
Everytime it's on the same day as highlander.

But otherwise I'm looking forward for the hl one.
Great work.

Due to the fact that you again picked sunday for hl traveling to maintal from berlin for highlander seems like a non-option. train connections on sunday to tiny maintal are horrible, plus monday is a workday, so i wouldn't expect many visitors from far. saturday was a much better day for this kind of crazy stuff, but sunday kills it for me.

We (from Slovakia) don't care that much about which day is HL, since we travel really far anyway, but to have only modern the other day really kills us. Some uf us (me included) don't play modern at all and then it is just a 1-day event for us, which makes it completely not reasonable to visit. Legacy or a limited tourney would make it much more appealing. I mean - I know that we are just 4 or so coming from Slovakia, so it is up to you at the end, but if possible, please put there something more the other day. Thanks

The whole "lets do a big tournament RIGHT after the new year" idea is kind of strange to me ( I guess there will be some weird "everyone is in the holidays and got time for this" explanation) iirc last year was also a controversy about the time (not only from HL players). Plus that what berlinballz said.

And as it looks he finally  got rid of all his silly ravages last time.

Ravages sold perfectly fine for market price.

Ravages is a shopkeeper par excellence. The usual playerbase who would buy something like this has literally no interest (never seen any vintage nor legacy play) in it and unlike other oddballs like bazaar, chains of meph. or abyss there is no trend to observe that this "fringe" effect would spark some financial growth. So except for some collectors there is no one  who would buy it (maybe just maybe 3-4 ww player who think they need a third geddon effect). Besides he dumped them right after the announcement of the JR version so its pretty clear he tried to get rid of them (even though I admit that JR version tend not to decrease the price of the original card but surely will take some potential buyers who want the shiny version which is in some case even cheaper and since Ravages isnt a card someone will just buy you would have to wait for quite some time)

There was surely some incentive on jk's side to "get rid" of those ravages. I won't deny the possibilty.

Nevertheless the price payout was good and is arguably even better this year.

All I wanted to state was, that I didn't have any problems at all to sell the ravages in short time for the expected market price. That is just my personal experience with the card and I can't speak for others.

Also, when constructing prizes there is always some feedback loop between jk and the local community, which is a good thing obv.

I really like this event and the date is is held. Many people in fact have time this time of the year, who wouldn't go to mtg-tournaments on other dates. And those people are even willing to spend a day of their holidays for events like this.
And JK is continuing a tradition that was founded by Hasbro(?) with the 3 PTQ-event around the end of the year that was held in past times.

About the prizes i like that JK is giving away some sort of HL-cards if not staples. The motivation behind certain cards doesn't bother me too much, as long as i can either play the cards or sell it for a reasonable prize. By the way i made a lot of money with my Ravages, i bought four year ago and sold last year... ;)

Additionaly I just realized that the new location is even harder to reach from Berlin than the old one plus the starting time was moved up to 10 am. This means there is neither a train that gets us there from Berlin on saturday in time nor one that gets us back in acceptable fashion. have fun y'all.

Really? That's bad. Thought both locations were more or less at the same coordinates. We will definitely talk to jk/his organizer to account for long distance travels the next time.

I still wonder why there are more discussions about ravages of war than the current price support ::) does anyone really interested in that old stories  ???
what counts is the price support of the current Cup, isn't it? this could make a difference if you ponder to visit the cup, not anything that was way back
with one ital. Tabernacle (good condition+) you can almost have e. g. a playset of Tarmogoyf if you like to

https://www.magickartenmarkt.de/Products/Singles/Legends/The+Tabernacle+at+Pendrell+Vale

with approx. EUR 420 / 250 / 100 / 100 / 75 / 75 / 75 / 75 for Top 8 and additional prices for Top 9-16 the price-support is fairly ok...for the Highlander himself undoubtedly great

Well my original post was kind of acknowledging the current prize pool while making sure everyone remembered his past deeds ;)

To be honest I dont care which shopkeeper in particular hes throwing at the HL players (speaking of the past and choices he made there and yes I am resentful person :P ) there is little to none
incentive for me driving 600km bc of the cards he has to offer but for the fame and glory so no hard feelings just some feedback for Jens.

as clarification:

there is no change concerning handling of gold-borded cards at the cup
you are still allowed to use it
