I'm sorry to say that i have to jump ship. I will not participate.
I can't get myself to put a deck together and i don't see myself playing several evenings.

I hope i didn't mess up everything and that somebody who can appreciate this more will take my place.

i'm sort of out playing highlander a little bit.
So i only read the invitation today.
If possible i think i'd like to participate.

And i have a question:
Player's will play the whole tournament with the same deck, right?
In the semifinals u can therefore read what our next opponent plays?

Until when do i have to give in my deck? I havent't played a while and all my decks need tuning.

MErcator (RDW) vs. Pyyhttu (Entchantress)

First game was lame untill i drew recruiter and had 7, mana. He had story circle and Worship, but i could kill everybody with sharpshooter.
2nd game he had argothian and worship.
3rd i played dorks, he played wrath, and had acadamy rector and genju of the fields. So it was stalled against my goblins including mogg raider. He was at 9 life and played 4/4 angel via decree. I had falmegtoungue and could deal 2 dmg and leave rector alife. Then i drew price od preogress which was the kill with my barbarian ring.

First game he killed my 2nd turn boa, i then played 2 calls and had primal command to bounce his wargear, kill the guy and gain 7 life. after that it seemed pretty easy. I discarded his 2 left handcards and played the bigger guys with enouh life backup.
2nd game i was pretty slow with visara and now swamps in the oepneing hand. I played yavimaya elder and got 2 swamps. Then i drew into survival and had time to get genesis and bone shredder. Then i had to remuilb my life with kitchen finks and baloth. Goblinpiledriver was pretty flooded and i suvivaled at leasure fo the win.

RDW against Mono Green beatdown. I had sparksmith and sharpshooter game 3 and 1 which killed all his small guys. 2nd game i was stuck on 2 lands and died in turn 7 or so...

MErcator (Rock) vs. Coldcrow (BUR)

First game was sedraxis spector turn 3 for him. i had only worldy tutor, but only removal for nonblack creatures. When i could play Visara, Masticore and Bane of the Living he had allways a counter ready, so i died to specter and nezumi shortfang.

2nd game i started with river boa, but he bounced her sometime and got rid of her via hymn. I had Oblivion Stone and Profane command, but waited, as he had no relevant creature in play. He bounced my hypnotic and got rid of command an hyppie with mind shatter (left me with 2 lands in hand =( )
After that i drew 3 creatures in the next 8 rounds, blew the stone and died afterwards to shadowmage with sword fire/ice.

I'm doing a lot of things in the evenings (mostly magic :-)) so it's easiest to get me during the afternoons

MErcator (GB-Rock) vs. Outlaw (Naya-Zoo)

He started first game with tattermunge maniac and grim lavamancer. I had thawing glaciers and played yavimaya elder turn 3, which blocked the maniac. He then had kitchen finks and tarmogoyf, but i played wickerbough elder and eternal wittnes which traded for finks and goyf, after i remove the graveyard with shred memory.
He rebuilt with Sword of fire and ice, but i edicted his lavamancer and played visara on an empty board. He drew survival of the fittest which got squee first and the untargetable critters like troll ascetic and solifuge. In the end i could win with primordial command, as he had to block and trade badly. Visara did it.

2nd game he started with llanowar elves and call of the herd turn 2 and 3. I had shriekmaw and ohran viper. Turn 3 i had to tutor my 4th land, but i had putrefy and baloth which held the ground. he had again sword of fire/ice and i played liliana. He attacked me, and i had to chump a few turn, but could eventually handle his team thanks to liliana and played visara and Ink-Eyes. He tutored cursed scroll as i was on 6 life, but couldn#t win the race. gg's

MErcator (WWu) vs. Vazdru (Zoo, land controll...)

First game went good for me, i could hit with sword of fire and ice on flyer. He had tarmogoyf and could eventuelly handle my sword. I had to wait a few turns, untill enlightened tutor dot paralax wave for the win.

2nd game vazdru had to mulligan to 5 cards and ich had mox diamond and tithe turn one. Then i cast raise the alarm and divine sacrament, but had no crearture for a long time. He eventually could so get controll of the game. in about turn 15 or so, i had only drew into whipcorder and nothing else...
he nearly died because of my psyonic blast, but he was on 5 and i had to kill chandra with it..

3rd game he had only 3 mana and a hand full of 4cc critters. he died to 2nd turn guildmage, 3rd turn kitchen finks.

OK, here's our report. we played for about 3 hours and had 3 very close and funny games. i can't remember everything and i couldn't write it all down. So if Georg has to say a few things in addditon i'll be glad.

1st game He had life from the loam going in about turn 3 or 4. i had only wall of roots and edge of autumn. But i resolved wordly tutor on withered wretch, which removed the life. We traded the wretch and perhaps trinket mage. I had Liliana and survival later on, but he had tarmogoyf (4/5) and was beating. I survivaled for wittness and got wretch again. I had to chump to keep Liliana and tried to remove enough witch wretch to make the goyf 2/3. He had crypt for my grave with genesis in it.
At one point he had counterspell for shriekmaw and then could kill Liliana, after she put Sundering titan on my library. But he had Hide/seek and removed him. I was left with survival and drew into no spell or creature for 2 rounds. He could handle survival then sometime and won after 1h playing.

2nd game i had survival again and played it turn 2, after i was afraight of counter in game 1 and played it, when i had low creatures and was under pressure from goyf. Then came Call of the herd for pressure. He had a counter for hymn and played his own liliana. I survivaled for wickerbough elder and got rid of his white talisman. he had wrath with reflecting pool after i had attacked liliana and killed her. We were both low on hadncards and mana, as we had traded very much, buzt genesis got elder, troll ascetic and w.wretch before he had tormods crypt again. That was enough for the kill eventually.

3rd game he starte strong with ice on my forest in th eupkeep of turn 2. than played shadowmage which i had to putrefy. I had glaciers, signet and edge of atumn but was under pressure, as he cast solemn and then etched oracle. I had nightmare void, which i had no time to play, too. Sometime i was on about 10 and had board controll again with mire boa, phantom centaur and ohran viper. He played gifts and got glen elendra archmage+land+counterspell. the counterspell countered nightmare void and the archmage hit. I attacked, he cracked the oracle. He attacked with the flyer, but i had spike weaver. He played black command and did 7 to me and regained kithen finks. I was down to 3. He had to wrath and could counter my demonic with his archmage. I had to kill the mage, as i was at 3 life and nothing left. We were both topdecking. he got brainstorm and then deed and loxodon hierarch. I topdecked spike feeder, chumped and was back at 7. I topdecked again: masticore but he had got counter for this. and had only engeneered explosives left in hand. he attack, i went to 3 and got profane command which got rid of his fresh cast exalted angel and regained masticore (i had glaciers and land in hand).
the game took another few turns untill he had no critters left but found swors to plowshares for masticore. I player w. wretch and yavimaya elder. Then after a time i drew primal command. i saced elder to dredge the void and he had indeed drawn mana drain. I played command, bounced a mace of ith and got wittness which got prfane command with him on 7 life, and me 13 mana.
He drew suprisingliy the mace and that was game.

First game i started with werebear and solemn turn 3, that got mana drained. I though that was allready game cause i had only 4 lands left in hand. He played gifts ungiven with his mana and solemn a turn later. I drew into Liliana, but had no blocks for solemn, so i waited a turn which yielded Wall of blossoms. As mentioned i had played land after land so i could search for sundering titan with liliana which resolved the turn after (he had played life from the loam and regrowth on gifts and stuffy doll). I hit 5 of his 6 lands which was virtually game. He had 1 turn to make stuffy doll/conciencse combo with 2 mana left, after that liliana got rid of the doll. he had removal for the titan, but i had spiritmonger and killed 2 mana stones with oblivion ring, so he was back at 2 mana.

2nd game I had 2 swamps and demonic tutor after spoils mulligan and had to search for the green mana. I kept hitting and he was low on life, when the game crashed. I had survival which he mortified straight away, so i only got wittness. I regained tutor and could have played black command for the kill one turn later. As he had his mana open and 4 hand cards we bagan anew.

2nd 2nd game he had an awfull start with talisman turn 2 and academy rector turn 3. I had call of the herd but didn't attack. I kept searching mana via glaciers and played kithcne finks and p. deed. He had Vindicate for a forest and eternal witness which git it back. He played collective restrained, coallition relic and vindicate for the deed, before he starstormed and searched future sight. Luckily i had drawn nantuko Vigilante and could handle the future sught before it got out of hand. I could keep attacking, as i had wastelanded a plateau so the restrained was only for 2. He had sroke (future sight had revealed it) but only 5 mana, so he played mortify on one of my guys and played mirari's wake. I had primaordial command to bounce it and seek the stomhowler should he recast it. He played fact to gain an answer but had only big business and couldn't handle mishra and vigilante.

I'm looking forward to find out which build is winning the Skies vs. WWeenie matchup. I think my deck sports a better matchup vs. RDW but the direkt comparison will be interesting.
