TOs may run a Trial for HL Cup Hanau (GP XIV) which takes places at end of year

+ each foreign country may have one aditional trial at any location
Rules for TO:
* contact me before you launch the event (where/when does the Trial take place, contact person) - wait for my ok
* Trial takes place between November, 1st and December 22nd
* Trials have to be announced / published at least one week before they take place
* respect magicplayer.org rules entirely
* no Proxies allowed
* max. one trial per location
Price:
* First round bye for each winner, if
* there have been at least 8 participants
* final standings have been posted in this thread till December, 22th
* TO have sent me name of the winner who receives a bye at HL Cup Hanau (GP XIV)
* (at least) Top 3 decklists have been posted at mtgpulse.com

Don't you think 17 trials are a bit too much for a 100 player event? You should seriously shrink the number of trials to 3-5. This would also lead to bigger tournaments.

don't think so
a) there won't be 17 trials but 17 cities are authorized to organize one
b) 6 of them are located in Finland, Slovak and Czech Republic - i don't expect many players from foreign countries this time
c) not every trial-winner automatically visits the HL Cup
d) last year there were even last-chance-trials at hanau (8-player-tournaments) and we had bout a dozen byes in a field of 131 players, this year there will be maybe 6-8 participants with first-round-byes i guess

Sadly, the Cup Trial in Turku, Finland, had to be cancelled due to lack of players. Eight players had pre-registered but three of them dropped out day before the tournament.
