I had some modest success on on cockatrice with it. It can hold quite well vs agressive decks if it lands an early lockpiece or curves ideally on the play. Problem is usually the reach of burn spells.

This has come a long way and is highly polished by now. The functionality exceeds cockatrice by far, as far as I understand even matchmaking is possible (or in progress of being added) and the deck editor is great.

Cons would be the .net 4 requirement and the need to download and include the setfiles/pics manually.

Alot of cards are autoincludes. Cards which could find a way in and did at some point: noxious revival, snapcaster, IGG, sins of the past. IGG is more or less superceded by Past in Flames, but still is a serious contender. Sins of the Past is only worthwhile targetting Spiral or Mind's Desire.
In this list I took out the aformentioned cards to make space for an alternate kill in the way of Severance/Belcher, which is sometimes easier to attain than 10 storm. Also a resolved Severance with 3-4 lands in play is quite good. But if testing doesn't prove the merits of this, it's easy to change back and get revival/snap/IGG.
Another card I am on the fringe about is Lotus Bloom. In the starthand it is godlike increasing the chances for a successful T3 win by a large margin. But any turn after it is often just dead.

In the past I experimented with a 4-5c version sporting silence effects, regrowth, crop rotation (as mini ritual getting workshop/city of traitors) and such, but the problems with the manabase made me discard that idea.

Last but not least this list can easily include more basics if you run across much nonbasic hate, but Tainted pact would have to go then.

I welcome any costructive criticism and advices about the deck.

XG : Search Library for a creature card and put it onto the BF. Shuffle ~ into your library.

I am pretty much disgusted by this card. Its powerlevel is obscene in anything besides vintage and even there elves combo can play it.
Basically:
1) 1 mana rampant growth with dryad arbor
2) utility tutor for pridemage, witness etc.
3) finisher for elves, ramp decks, U/G/x control/aggro

This thing is just never a dead card and any decks running creatures must have a good reason not to splash green now (even less than up to now).

Off-Topic / Alternatives to MWS

Greetings.

After reading alot of complaints about the instability of MWS and experiencing it myself I am wondering if the community would approve an alternative?

Maybe some know it already: OCTGN 1 or 2 provide nearly the same functionality, but is far more stable in actual playing mode, since you don't need any servers, just a direct connection (although not totally stable). Even better is the autosave function between turns. A downside is that you actually need to get card pics.

If there is interest I would provide links to the program(s) + pics (not sure about legality, although the MWS.site advertises the pics openly too).

I have been playing this deck for a long time now (some earlier list might be floating around at this forum) and this is pretty final for me, sans a few cards.

1. 38 Lands: not sure if too many, although it's critical to hit the first 3-4 land drops. I can see 1 or 2 go though.

2. Replacement for Burning Wish under the new (shitty) rules. Wish was outstanding in this deck getting IGGY, Spiral or flashbacked stuff back.

3. Amount of Artifact Mana: Having an some kind of accelerant out by turn 2-maximal 4 or a Sac-Land is critical. I won't play any > cmc 2 artifacts though. Prismatic Lens too bad?

4. Remand too bad? I am not sure if the gained tempo outweighs the lack of oomph late game.

5. If anyone has suggestions on good draw/filter/enablers/mana, feel VERY free to post them.

Cards I already considered: Three Wishes, Portent, Fire/Ice, Snap, Wipe Away, Boomerang.

Just realized that I missed Chain of Vapor. I'll definetely play that.

The idea of it should be relatively clear... surviving early game/dropping lock pieces followed up by win condition (vise, eater, stax, etc).

The deck still folds too often to very fast sligh decks (probably can't change that fact) but has a decent game vs others. I specifically want to improve the control matchup.

That is one of my pet decks for quite awhile. At first it looks rather weird and inconsistent but thats not the case.
Aim is to get one of the key combo parts sticking (volute,desire,eye,halls,mirror) and then go banzai with the free spells generated by them. To my surprise it works rather well.

There are of course issues: It's manahungry. It's not the fastest on the block. Getting the key parts removed hurts.

So there are my questions: There are some cards which can be replaced (mamgma jet, electrolyze, fire and ice, etc.); would it be good to add a 3rd colour to it? Green or black comes to mind for mana, recur, search. Green would give the insane regrowth, manamorph and some mana accel, while black would of course lend demonic and rituals.
Also would the saclands be good in here? Also I am not so sure about Dreamhalls. While it can be utterly broken with some hands it mostly isn't. Also I removed suspend cards... Not sure about them drawing them early is good but drawing them late is just awful. Visions might be good for the ability to pitch it for force.

I'd be happy about suggestions :)
