General Discussion / Australian Highlander
22-04-2014, 01:41:23 PM
Hey guys,

for the people who are interested in other ways of playing a singleton format I found a interesting twitch-channel. Its from a gaming store in Melbourne which supports the
local highlander community.

The australian version is only with 60 cards and sideboard and they also use a point list like the canadians instead of bannings.

They just had a huge tournament and recorded the top8 (click on past broadcasts)

Hey guys,

we (the council) want you to tell us your opinion about the current mulligan and also give you the opportunity to have a voice for the upcoming vote regarding changing it back to the old mulligan or keep the current one. Six months passed since this huge change and we would like to hear your thoughts and include the outcome of this poll in our decission.

Hey guys

I want to draw your attention to another highlander format. Its called Viclander (since the community is located in Victoria, Canada) and their highlander format is pretty similiar to ours but they use a point list instead of a banlist and they play with P9.

I collected some information and want to share this with you.

General Info [Point List/History]: http://canadianhighlander.wordpress.com/

Similar to Vazdrus thread about Senseis Divining Top last season I will ask the community what reasons could speak for the unban of LftL. Or which reasons speak against the unban.

Please make a statement and give a clear explanation. I would like a discussion about the card as well if people dont have a final opinion but maybe have some insight which could support the pros/cons.

Deck Lists / Highlander Games on Youtube
30-11-2011, 12:09:33 PM
I decided to make my own thread with the you tube vids I am making so people can follow that (I posted them in the scoreboard so far because they were leaguegames but now I will also record "normal" games and commentate them.) For now they will be in german. If more english speaking people want me to do the commentary in english I will do so. But Youtube showed in the stats that 95% of the viewers are from germany so ...

For the people who missed my other games just click on my youtube channel for previous games http://www.youtube.com/user/Tabrys

anyway new game (non-league game)

General Discussion / Oath Creatures nowadays
23-09-2011, 01:35:39 PM
Hey gaise,

bc of the release of the new Liliana (and the liquidation of my 5cStaxx) I was tempted to build an Oath deck but not just pure Oath so here is just a quick "help me I am so lazy right now" attempt.

If you would build a RGBU-Oath-deck with some staxx elements and heavy planeswalker support (smokestack, deathcloud, wildfire, tanglewire and stuff)which creatures would you add nowadays (they must be castable in the deck)

-Grave Titan
-Inferno Titan
-Primeval Titan (not sure)
-Demonic Tutor Demon
-Emrakul (just because)
-Frost Titan (This poor guy need a home maybe a Wildfire deck?)
-Trench Gorger (for the lulz?)
-Fact or Fiction Sphinx

go on make some suggestions even pet cards

Reports / Highlander Tournaments in Berlin
12-06-2011, 03:44:29 PM
Similar to the thread about Erfurt, I want to post continuous results of the Berlin HL-scene.

We have a weekly tournament with an average attendence about 12-18 people. Yesterday we started a monthly tournament series which will
be provided with a higher payout. My goal is it to post the results of those tournaments and give you guys an overview of the local HL-meta.

I´ll start this entry with the tournament which was held on 11.06.11

Final standings:

1.Jonny     10 UWr-Control (small nonbasic-hate theme with b2b/bloodmoon and similar to the list from nastaboi. I would guess I changed about 30% of the cards)
2.Patrik       9 5c-Aggro (similar to the piledriver list)
3.Oliver       9 UGR-Scapeshift (ramp deck which runs the scapeshift/pestermite combo)
4.Dion         8 UG-AggroControl(I guess similiar to my list but a little bit slower)
5.Thomas       7 Bant
6.Thomas       6 GWB-Rock
7.Christoph    6 4c-Birthing Pod
8.Boris        6 4c-Goodstuff (not like the usual 4c-list more like lategame goodstuff)
9.Oliver       5 Grixis (I lend him my melee grixis pile bc he had no deck and unfortunately he got two draws)
10.Martin      4 UW-Control (he posted his list some days ago on the forums)
11.Dennis      4 MBC
12.Marvin      3 Bant
13.Sebastian   3 RDW (similar to my list from the blog)
14.Christian   0 Esper Control

So they released the  schedule for the upcomming national championship and on saturday is a highlander tournament listed. Anyone here is involved or know something about this? I see a moderate price payout (the Library of Alexandria is a little bit akward since its banned).

Hey guys, since the upcomming of the five preconstructed Commander decks with 51 new cards is coming, the question about the legality in the highlander format is rising.

Wotc is making them legal in every eternal format which are Legacy and Vintage. The prices are already very high bc many people are pre-ordering all five of them. Since some cards on the bannedlist are banned bc of money issues (we had the discussion w/o any final solution)its becoming interesinting if its the same case here.

the "preview" is starting right now
