Nastaboi (UGw Heartbeat Combo) vs. VuRkka (4c Control)

2-0

G1 I run Gifts into his counter at end of third turn only to untap and lay down Future Sight. It took me several turns to take it home however as I sacrificed wrong land to Harrow but it just denyed the inevitable.

G2 VuRkka got a pre-emptive Deed and Baloth against my lone Sunscape Familiar. I had Mirari's Wake and Palinchron in hand and Impulsed into Mana Reflection. VuRkka used Oblivion Ring instead of Deed, and two turns later I got infinity mana and went of chaining Relearn into Impulse into Idyllic Tutor into Future Sight into stuff.

Morale of the story: 1U counters >>> XUU counters.

Against control you just outdraw them. They have no clock, so you don't have to be fast. You have mana superiority, and with enough lands on the table you'll eventually resolve one draw spell and then they can't stop the tide. Multicolored control decks seldom pack ten or more counters. U(x) Skies is the hard one, because they have counters AND clock, and usually Winter Orb which just wins.

I haven't kept the record, but it's usually somewhere between 6th and 8th turn when I go off. 5th turn wins happen. Actual winning often happens many turns later because of savage Time Walking, but opponent won't get more than six or seven turns. What matters is that I am always a turn faster than RG(x) beatz which matters - unless they get Winter Orb which straight out wins.  ;)

This deck, among many others, should raise the question about Gifts' banning. Resolved Gifts always wins the game on spot.

I don't have time to write long stories. I'll just say that this is a really dedicated combo deck where every card is supposed to be a part of the engine. So no removal, "win conditions", cheap cantrips etc.

Nastaboi UGw Heartbeat combo vs. Georg B RGW Zoo

2-0

G1 I accelerated into Mirari's Wake while he had some hasty beaters. I Time Spiraled at six life and drew two Rampant Growth variants, Mana Leak, Turnabout and three lands, taking two points of burn. Turnabout tapped his guys, and I drew into Idyllic Tutor into Future Sight into combo.

G2 I had Top and 5+ land searchers, which got me plenty of mana, Tangle to tap his four guys and finally Gifts to just win the game. I had Mana Leak for his Wane to Heartbeat, too. Decklist will be posted to the forums soon.

[EDIT:] Here's the list.

Nastaboi (U Skies) vs. MErcator (WW/u)

2-0

Mercator won the roll and had fast Azorius Guildmage and other beats. I was poor on mana with only an Island and Dimir Aqueduct, but I got Augury Adept equipped by Sword of Light and Shadow which he could do nothing about. Cryptic Command bought me more time to draw Islands for Vedalken Shackeles, which lead into desperate Cataclysm. I responded with Tangle Wire.

The second game had T1 Samurai of the Pale Curtain, T2 Sword of Fire and Ice from Mercator. I kept a slow but controlling hand with Maze of Ith and Treachery. Maze kept Samurai at bay while Treachery stole Knight of Meadowgrain. Sword of pro white came down again and Mercator kept drawing just lands.
