UWR Lark

Hi, people,  I'm building URW Lark right now, but i need some advices.

I try to play as much 2-power creatures as possible for Lark. I have troubles with Kiki-jiki's manacost so maybe i will cut him. I tested it only against UGW Rock and its 50:50. I only lose because of Volrath's Stronghold / Reccuring nightmare / Genesis - i should add some grave hate.

I would be grateful for some suggestions.

I would be grateful for some suggestions.

I've played almost the same deck recently - won 2:0 vs peeler (RGu), lost 1:2 vs Kavu24 (4C-Survival) and 5:1 in friendly games. I marked the cards in your decklist which are in my actual list too.

Some suggestions:

* play all 5 fetch-lands
* play less lands -> you have 37 + 3 signets + 1 talisman + Relic + Tithe + Eternal Dragon; you will be flooded quite too often // meanwhile I play 33 lands + land tax + 2 mox + 3 signets + talisman + relic + ingot + tithe + dragon -> still more than enough
* think about blasting station or altar of dementia for infite reveillark + body double combo (in addition to entity) - I've tried Station and it worked well (since I have Tezzerat, Academy Ruins)
* i play in addition to body double and karmic guide -> breath of life for intuition and gifts-staples - sometimes quite helpful
* Moat and Mana Drain would be great in your deck too :P
* imo Ajani Vengeant is an auto-include (like Elspeth and Jace - i play Chandra, Tezzerat and Ajani Goldmane as well) - planeswalker are sick
* since Mindtwist is leagal you should definately add Misdirection and Force of Will
* Lightning Bolt > Repulse / i think you should lower your mana curve a bit - maybe i will add chain lighning as well
* as i don't like CC3-Counterspells i do not play any of them

As Vazdru said before, you're playing too many mana sources.

some cards that I definitly wouldn't play:
Siege-Gang Commander - doesn't fit into a control deck
Knight-Captain of Eos - slow, easy to kill, doesn't have many impact on the game often
Sower of Temptation - most of the time it dies eot without having done anything
Mystical Teachings - too slow
Dispeller's Capsule - too slow
Hallowed Burial - doesn't combo well with Lark
Forbid (representing all cc3 counterspells) - too expansive
Instead of playing the cc5 Wraths I'd propably play more burn. Lightning Bolt, Fire/Ice and the like. If you want to have some massremoval, give Volcanic Fallout, Firespout, Earthquake a try. There's just more synergy with Swans.


@Vazdru: Your experiences sound interesting. I got some questions though:

- It seems you're playing the deck more focused on combo, aren't you? Do you play any additional tutors?
- Whitch creatures do you play that can be brought back by Lark? Why doesn't Flametonge Kavu make the cut?
- Why do you both play Conflagrate? Sure, when comboing, it's a finisher. But otherwise it sucks. Seismic Assault is useful even without the combo and allows some nice card-advantage with Swans only. Is it the RRR, that prevents you from playing it?

I'll try the deck some time soon and post my results then.
