[HLL]Pairings

[Vazdru]

Pairings will be made each sunday evening, starting this week.

You have 6 weeks time to agree on a date for each match and report the results. Otherwise it counts as loss for both players.

Try to play one round each week if possible, feel free to play two rounds if you like to.

You can arrange matches via board or icq (...or phone) just how you like to.

In case you wanna leave the league give me a short message via icq. The open pairings of that player will be annulled.

The algorithm for the "random" parings you find beneath. It won't be modified when new players join the league. In worst case a joining player can't have 12 pairings in one season. It depends on how many players are added.

Assumption 1 (A1): No more than 12 pairings in one season.
Assumption 2 (A2): No more than two matches (best-of-three) vs. the same opponent.
Assumption 3 (A3): No more than two pairings each week per player.

Step 1: Create a sorted player list (ascending) each sunday. Using
updated 070926

    * ICQ Number (1. week)
    * Forename (2. week)
    * Nickname on MP.org  (3. week)
    * Ranking in HLL (4. week)
    * Checksum ICQ Number (5. week)
    * Surname (6. week)
    * Ranking MPL (7. week)
    * Back starting on top (8. week) if necessary.

If a parameter is identic the player who registered to HLL first is on top.


Step 2: Pairings will be made starting with top player of the list.

Pairing 1:
Player 1 (P1) if violation A1 or A2 â€" go to P2
P1 vs Pn/2 (rounded down) +1 (with n = number of players actually in the league)
If violation A3
P1 vs Pn/2 +2
If violation A3
P1 vs Pn/2 +3 ….

Pairing 2:

btw: if anyone are unable to play any [hll]games more than 3 weeks, please leave a note
AND for the 12 games each season you have 12 weeks time -> average 1 game/week, so don't feel hounded of the weekly pairings, it's no prob when you take your time

Yes - just take a look at the results, i've played vs. Whistler twice in Round 1 and 2.

There are 12 matches with 8/9 opponents, so you'll play vs 3/4 twice.
